Albright is a play based on the life of John J. Albright, a businessman, philanthropist, and a leading in the American Industrial Revolution, his young wife Susan Albright, and Mark Twain's youngest daughter Jean Clemens. The play explores not only personal struggles of each character and their complex relationships, but also the struggles of socialism vs. capitalism, early feminism vs. patriarchy and the meaning of art in a predominantly business environment.
Produced by Friends of the Buffalo Story in association with FENGARI Ensemble as part of the Buffalo History Month Albright Weekend.
Performance Date: June 3, 2017 at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY
